A 57 year-old man from Carlsbad, California has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest held plank in an effort to raise money for wounded Marines.
George Hood held the challenging position for an excruciating 5 hours and 15 minutes. In order to beat the previous record, George needed to hold the position for at least 4 hours and 26 minutes. The money raised will benefit the Semper Fi Fund for wounded Marines. “This is the least I could do and the discomfort I feel pales in comparison to that which they’ve experienced on the battlefield,” says Hood. “They’re my heroes, they really are, every one of them.”
